I'm starting my first clinical rotation this Spring. It's advanced health assessment, with a provider I have no relationship with. How was your first clinical rotation like? How much did you do? What advice, tips or recommendations do you have?
Also, would you recommend bringing a laptop on site? How much of your resources did you take to clinical?
thanks so much!

I took my laptop with me to my first clinical site, but my preceptor asked me to so I could use it for charting. After that first semester I never had to take my laptop unless I planned on working on something for school during lunch, for example.
Do they give you contact information for your preceptor? If so, might be a good idea to contact them and ask what equipment they'd like you to bring and what will be available for use on-site.
Your first clinical semester is a HUGE learning curve. Make sure your preceptor knows it's your first semester, so they have expectations of you that are appropriate. I focused mostly on H&P my first semester, because that is truthfully about 85% of your diagnosis and it is SO crucial. Management ability will come with time.
