How do people do on practice questions vs. NCLEX?

Published

Just curious! For those who passed/didn't pass/are currently studying, how are you guys doing on practice questions? I know it's unreasonable to expect to get 100% of practice questions right, but I've been studying for a while and I'm consistently at 70-80% because questions with material I just haven't been able to cover keep popping up.

Generally if you're scoring in the 60-70 range you are good to go.

I'm studying now and depending on the source my scores go from 50-90%

I am in the same boat. My scores can be any where from 68-84. I am consistently in the 70 range. But, I am checking across the board to be sure I am above the passing line in all areas.

It's a bit frustrating as my scores are pretty much in the 70 areas, but there is always something new. I am not sure how to handle.

I decided to go with overall numbers in the areas being graded. Making sure to know med surg really well, priority, delegation and assignment, and review basics of pharm. Not sure if this is a good method, but seems to be knowing the basics is a good thing.

I did Hurst review for content

I'm using Maryann Hogan primarily, and with that, I do more on the upper end around 80%. With Lippincott, I'm around 60-70%, occasionally dipping into the 50s.

Yea Lippincott are harder questions compared to Saunders

my saunders are a piece of cake, i do up in the 80 range consistantly. I have been doing kaplan qbank with lipincott and just finished my qbank with percentil rank of 65, i hear if you are above 60 kaplan stats say you have 90% chance of passing nclex, but I'm not sure about that truthfulness...I'm scared still!

Yeah, it feels weird to believe that 60% will get you through. I guess we'll see. I take my exam this Thursday...

Well I was on the 50- 67 range and I passed.

Hi Nadoue, was your scores from doing Kaplan Q Bank question? Either way, I'm so happy to see your post! I've been doing questions and reviewing contents but I still feel like I don't know anything And congratulations on Passing NCLEX :)

Passed! Seems like 60-70% will get you through just fine :)
