Wow! You guys are all awesome! It is nice to know that others are in the same boat as I am. I'm just stressed trying to plan out my schedule for fall with work, school, appts, deadlines, personal time....you know. Plus finances are always in the back of my mind. Sometimes I just think "My gosh! How am I going to do this!" but I guess you just have to take it as it comes.

I'm lucky. Right now I'm working 56 per a two week payperiod overnights in an assisted living. It's great! I get a lot of times on nights to do my homework. So far this has workked out great, but next semester I start on the harder classes.
Good for you! I worked nights for about a year but had to stop because it was messing up my sleep and med. schedule. Plus I was trying to work 7-7 and then go to school in the day and sleep (and study) in the evenings...yeah right. I'm so glad it is working out for you, I know I couldn't do it. :) Keep it up, all the classes are hard (well for me anyway...) he he he :rotfl:

I work 40+ hours a week at the American Red Cross and I still find time to take 15 hours a semester and 9 hours during the summer. I don't have much of a social life but some times you have to do what needs to be done. I get NO finacial aid, just student loans. Since I have no kids the goverment thinks I can do this on my own. :angryfire It will all be worth it in the end, I start the nursing program spring '06, I will have all my pre-req's out of the way and can't wait to start.
Wow! 15 credits! You're dedicated. I am just starting school again and I work 40 hrs so I can't imagine where all the time would come from to study and everything. This fall will be my first semester back in a while so I'm going to stick with 8. Hopefully I'll be able to do it. I don't get financial aide either and I can't afford to go full time and not work. You're right, it will all be worth it in the end. I have a ways to go. I'm applying to nursing school in Fall '06 for Fall '07 (my school only admits once a year in the fall) It's a long road but we can all get there. Good work and keep on going!

I will be starting my last semester of pre-reqs next month. I work full time and am a single mom ~ 2 boys. Fortunately all my classes have been online so I have managed pretty well so far. I had to get student loans for 2 semesters. I usually take my textbooks to work with me and spend my lunch hour reading my assignments. The boys usually get to bed by 8:30 and I spend until about 11:30 studying. I also study more on the weekends.
WOW that is so cool ..just wondering which pre reqs you were taking online!
i have never seen science classes w/lab online which is part of my pre reqs ..i have one son and have been taking 1-2 courses at a time for like 5 semesters now
i only have chem and organic/biochem left ...2 semesters ....we can do it !
having children as well makes it all so much more worth it ..woo hoo

I have been able to get a state grant from the WIA program. It pays $3,000 per year for tuition and books, and $1,000 per year for child care or mileage. Going part time this has pretty much covered everything so far. I have also gotten 2 scholarships and hope to get another once I start the program. I work part- time and will hopefully pick up more hours once my youngest strarts kindergarten in the fall. I;m crossing my fingers I can start in January since my pre-reqs are all finished.
