How to pass a pre-employment pharmacology exam for nurses at the hospital?

Published

Hi everyone! I accepted an offer at saint barnabas medical center, and unfortunately they are one of the hospitals that do a pre employment pharm exam for nurses. I did receive study guide, so i'v been going over it quite a lot. Im nervous because we only get 2 attempts. Am i overthinking this? Ive worked as a medsurge nurse for 2 years prior, so its been a while since i took a test, also my previous hospital didnt require it so I dont know how it even works. Is it possible i fail twice? I do have an idea of the common drugs in the hospitals but still a bit nervous. Any insight and advice would be appreciate! thank you

Does the study guide, is the test, mainly drug calculations, or is it pharmacology, the side effects or proper dosing range of common drugs, etc.?

Either way I believe you know this stuff....your only problem is to stop being nervous!

Google how to relax prior to taking a test. There are some good ideas out there. Check out a few sites and find one that appeals to you.

They're the same tests we took throughout school. Just brush up on the things you don't do regularly.

I think it's probably very rare for someone to fail, especially twice.
