This is very interesting. they(whoever they are) have said that the average age for nursing students is in the 30's.

I amcurious to see how true this is.

I am going to go to nursing school either this year or next.

I will be either 36 or 37 upon entrance. How about eveyone else?

hi- seems like i outdo you all! i am 49 yrs old and one year into my three years training. really enjoying it- should have done it years ago!

I'll be starting nursing school in January........ I'll be 26 at the time :)

HELLO EVERYONE, I'M 29 AND WILL FINISH LVN SCHOOL IN AUG.2001!! I HAVE TO WORK A YEAR AND THEN APPLY TO THE RN BRIDGE PROGRAM. I WILL BE 31 WHEN I FINISH. MY CLASS IS MOSTLY IN THE MID 30'S TO EARLY 40'S. GOOD LUCK! :D

I'm 22 now, just barely starting my pre-reqs for a BSN. I considered the ADN, but I don't have any children yet to keep me too busy, so I figured I was up to the 4-year degree. I should be 26 when I graduate.

I am 32 and have A&P I & II to go. I am taking these classes in 2 semesters as they are not offered in the summer. We are required to get a B average in micro and A&P I & II to be accepted into the nursing program. I will be 33 by the time I submit my application and 35 by the time I graduate. I am one of the older students in my classes by I am not alone.

I am 24 and starting nursing school in August for my ADN. :)

Hello! I am 22 and will be starting an ADN program on August 20, 2001. I am very exicted and nervous all at the same time. I realize the program is going to require hardwork and dedication. I hope I have enough energy to succeed.

Hi! Rhonda I will be 55 this year and I am in my junior part of the LPN school. You are never to old to learn. Sugared

:D I'm 50 I graduate in a few days from and ADN program. I am enrolling in a BSN program immediately. I have talked to 2 people in the past couple of weeks who are 55 and just enrolling or are about to in the ADN program. I don't know if I was the oldest in my class. It is possible I was not.

I would think that BSN programs have more younger students because, attending a university or 4 yr. college OFTEN means leaving home, (not realistic for most older people). Also there are time and financial and constraints on the older student that don't exist for somone right out of HS.

Hello all nurses and nurses-to-be!! :D I am currently 37, but will be 38 in just a few days and when I start the ADN program. I will be just shy of my 40th birthday when I graduate in 2003!! I don't know the age range of my class yet, but I am aware of one girl who is 19 that will be in my class. So our ages range at least from 19 to 38. :) Also, I am not exactly sure of the male to female ratio, but I do know at our orientation there were about 5 males and 95 females present. My reason for going ADN instead of BSN has to do with rumors of less patient contact in the semi-local BSN program!! I WANT patient contact not paper contact. I pushed paperwork for 20+ years and although I know there will be paperwork involved as an RN, I really have no desire at this time to pursue my BSN...perhaps later in life...LOL!! Good luck to all!! :) :) :)

I am 28. At graduation, I will be a "young" 30! :)

I am 19 and will be starting in an associates degree program in Fall 2002.
