How old were you when you began nursing school?

Published

Just out of curiosity - how old where you when you started nursing school and what kind of school did you go to before - i.e. high school, four year college, 2 year, etc.?

Personally, I am graduating with my BA in psychology in May and entering an ASN program in September so I will be 22.

:)

I am on my second year of pre-reqs and will start the nursing program hopefully in the fall of 2010, I will be 40 and 42 when I graduate. Started my pre-reqs last year at age 38.

I started school when I was 18 and will be 22 when I graduate. :yeah:

Started pre-reqs at 16, NS at 18, graduation at 20.

Specializes in Corrections, tele/med surg.

I had prior classes straight out of high school but never finished anything. Then I went for a 1 year diploma for medical assisting and realized a few months into that I wanted to be a nurse. I started taking prereqs just a couple months before my 38th birthday and I started NS (ADN) in January right after I turned 39. I will be done next summer, at the ripe (but not old :0) ) age of 40. Whew! I am so glad I figured out what I want to be when I grow up!:yeah:

I will begin Graceland University's nursing program this June. I am 23 years old. I always thought I would be finished with school by this age! Oh well. :nurse:

Just throwing my age in the ring (so to speak)... I graduated w/ a BA (Communications/Public Relations) at 22... And realized at 25 that I had a desire to become a nurse and make a career change.. After starting co-requisites last year, I start nursing school this fall 09 at 27, and will have my ADN (hopefully) by age 29. Fall can't come soon enough... I'm just so ready to get started... The waiting is driving me crazy (and physiology this semester is killing me slowly -- haha)!

Got my B.A. in Spanish @ 22. Start program in May I am 24. One year accelerated bachelor program will be 25 when I graduate.

34 when I started, 36 now to graduate.

We have a 20 year old graduating with us. She took college classes in HS instead of advanced classes. Such a smart thing to do!

Specializes in Couplet Care/Newborn Nursery.

I graduated with my BA in child development at 22.

I will start an entry level masters this summer and I'll be 23.

And I will graduate in 2012 so I will be 26 or 27 depends which month graduation is in.

I was 37, did one year of whatever prereqs I still needed, 2 years of nursing school, and graduated May last year at 40 years old. Been working at a medsurg telemetry unit eversince and loving it.

Started @ 27 after 3 years of applying to nursing schools here in Cali before I finally got accepted. Will graduate next month @ the age of 29 years young. woot woot!

Finished my Associates in Early Childhood when I was 22.

Went back to school for remaining nursing pre-reqs at 24.

Should start nursing program when I am 25 or 26.

Should graduate when I am 27 or 28.
