My husband and I might be moving there this summer or fall. Any suggestions would be helpful.

How is cost of living there and crime rate??

Thanks for any help!

in the recent past other posters have mentioned that it can be hard to find an RN job based on the large density of nursing schools in the area... but that is anecdotal I have no real 1st hand info on it.

Kadlec Medical Center is hiring to new grads, and are offering a new grad internship. The pay is better than in Spokane, the benefits are better- they are giving double contributions to 401- K pensions. If you live out of the area, they will provide you with a hotel room for the days that you work.

The cost of living is less than Spokane, and the cost of housing is less. There is alot of land out there. It has been relatively undeveloped in the Tri Cities. Hope that helps.

Contact them if you are intersted. the recruiter's name is James. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I live in Spokane now, so I know the situation here.

It use to be a good place to work.

I work at Kadlec in Richland, WA and I like it here. They're hiring here and at other hospitals. What specialty do you work in? Feel free to PM me for more information. I respond to those same day usually!

Employer contributions do not start until you've been employed there for 2 years, though. However, you are 100% vested at that time and you can't beat double contributions! At the 2 year mark, it ends up being around 11% of your salary being tucked away each paycheck with your minimum contribution.

Does that mean you can contribute up to $ 16,500 x2 = $33,000/ year?

Is 11% the max contribution?

Thanks.
