*Puts on armor*
Eh, I'm going to get flamed for this, but here goes. My supervisor is going back to school for her BSN. She's been in school for about a year now, but hasn't done too many essays or papers. Why not? Because she has the nursing staff doing her school work for her. I have no idea how she manages to pass since different people have different writing styles, but whatever.
I'll admit, I wrote one paper. I'm against cheating and I cringed while doing it, but the "I'm 60, how can my school expect me to learn APA at my age" talk won me over. I have a soft spot for people like that (my mother was the exact same way but never got to finish school) but now my supervisor is asking me to do a whole research project . I need to tell her no, but I'm not really sure how.
I already told myself I will never help her cheat again, but now I need help telling HER that without succumbing to her "I can't do this, I need you" speeches.
You both knew it was a violation of academic integrity. Come clean and get in front of your error, voice your concerns to her supervisor, and move it up the chain of command at your facility. Be prepared for backlash from coworkers others but your conscience will be a peace.
I hope you wrote her a crappy paper.

Since your armor is on, acquire the personal integrity you're lacking, and tell her no more. Tell her she's cheating. If she threatens you, or retaliates in any way, contact the school and tell them what she is doing.

Ya might wanna read the thread. He already told her he would not do anymore papers for her.
Although I have to say I liked the suggestion of agreeing to write another paper and then doing a REALLY awful one. And get the next person she pressures to do the same. Tanking her grade would be sweet revenge indeed.

Good for you newboy..you did the right thing and I believe in your heart you knew this was wrong from the get go and just got caught up in it. You sound like a "helper" and in the future you must learn how to help others constructively. I know I suggested to turn her into HR anonymously with the caveat that you will be protected in that you will truly remain anonymous. I still believe that you should do this as you now know the depth of her manipulations. At this point you do not know if there will be any negative repercussion come your way and you can not trust this person. I would just wait a bit and see if she does anything. If she tries to make you suffer in any way.... you absolutely must go to HR. This wacko is taking a huge risk in that she is involving several people and I bet they are helping her in part out of fear of repercussions for refusing. She is abusing her power and that is unethical and she feels untouchable. So wait and watch knowing now you hold a pretty good hand. In the meantime write down all you know in a notebook.... dates and such and who is writing papers for her. If there is the slightest repercussion to you,you better run.... not walk to HR with your notebook!
