I am starting a Practical Nursing program on January 11 and I was just talking to my WIA counselor and he told me that WIA will only pay $10,000 toward your degree and I would be responsible for the rest. I was wondering if any of you that have WIA grants have heard anything different. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I graduated LVN school late last year. Recvd my license early this year. I work part time and attend college full time. This is no fun! )-: but it's my last semester of prereqs needed to apply to the RN program, so that motivates me.
I will probably apply to the bridge as soon as the application period opens. Too bad they now only take apps once per year so that will be 10 months from now!
Congratulations for making this far and staying motivated!!! :) that's the hardest step and your accomplishing it. Everything will be worth it. Do you know when most lvn-rn bridge programs in spring or fall only? The reason I ask is because I will be starting a lvn program in the fall and its one year july-july. Would that be after the deadline date?

Thanks for the tip!
But, hmmm...I never work before so I dont know if I can still qualify for this unemployment grant? I guess I need to find the WIA agency near my area and ask for all this info b/c this program is very new to me!
