Have benefits as well-dental,long term disability, prescription drug plan etc.

We have a province wide union in Manitoba. Our current contract goes to next year, but there is talk of opening up our contract earlier, to get more$ as we are losing nurses to other parts of Canada and the States. Jan

IN RESPONSE TO TEXAS NURSE MAKING 92 K A YEAR.I SAY ..THAT IS SO GREAT!I ONLY HOPE THAT OTHER HOSPITALS WILL FOLLOW TEXAS CHILDRENS HOSPITALS TRACKS.AND I AM SURE YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT NURSE,BECAUSE HOSPITALS WILL NOT PAY YOU THAT IF YOU ARE NOT WORTH IT.ALOT OF YOUR PAY HAS TO DO WITH NOT JUST YOUR EDUCATION BUT YOUR SKILLS...YOU MAY HAVE A PHD IN NURSING BUT IF YOUR SKILLS ,EXPERIENCE,AND BASIC NURSING INTUITION ARENT THERE ...GUESS WHAT,THEY ARENT GOING TO PAY YOU JACK.SO I SAY THATS GREAT FOR HUSTON,AND ITS SAD THAT ALOT OF NURSES ARENT GETTING PAID WHAT THEY TRULY DESERVE TO BE PAID BY HOSPITALS THAT DONT FULLY APPRECIATE ALL THEIR EXP/SKILLS/AND CARING.......BUT WE ALL KNOW ALOT OF NURSES OUT THERE THAT WE HAVE TO WALK BY AND SHAKE EM TO MAKE SURE THAT THEIR STILL BREATHING,BECAUSE THE HOSPITAL JUST HIRED THEM SO THEY'D HAVE A WARM LIVING BODY TO SIGN THEIR NAME RN FOR STATE REQUIREMENTS.I BET TEXAS CHILDRENS HAS THEIR PICK OF NURSES NOW.

I'm an RN with 13 years of experience. I work both med/surg and ICU at a rural hospital. I currently Make $17.50 per hour. I work 7A-7P. I'm due for a raise next month.

Worked in hospice 15 years.

$22.hr but I haven't had a raise in almost 4 years! Go figure.
