Hey everyone:
I was just wondering how much I am looking at for the first semester of nursing as far as books go. I have tried to find information on it, but have no idea. I am going to be quitting work to go into the nursing program full-time. God willing and blessing me that I get my letter next month. I was just wondering if any of you pre-nurses, nurses out there could give me a little insight. God bless and thank you.

i believe that i spent about $600 on books for first quarter, but we also had to buy an ATI testing package that is being used over our entire program.

For my first quarter, I'll spend about $1000-1200 on books, supplies, scrubs, etc. But, I'll only have to buy books in the first semester.

I spent about $1000 on books, supplies, unifroms and a good stethascope. I know it sounds painfull, but it will be well worth it in the end and you will keep your books and stethascope for many years to come. And remember to save your receipts because it's all a write-off on your taxes!

I have been surprised at how much money I have started forking out for all the expensis of nursing school! I did find that uniforms and lab coats on allheart is WAY cheaper than the uniform shope here as well as steths, etc So definatly shop around. Shop around for immunizations as well because some places charge a ton and some are free!!
My books are outrageous as well! I get financial aid but it doesn't even come close to covering everything I need.
So we will be broke, but you know what? It WILL be worth it. I'm so excited!
