All i have heard since I started taking classes is how hard it is to get accepted and that you need to make almost a 4.0 to get in. SO, how many times did you have to apply to the BSN programs in Texas, which one did you get into, and what was your GPA?? THANKS!
Also, who has gotten into an accelerated second degree program for nursing???

Zaarakhan,
Texas Womens University and Texas Christian University have Accelerated BSN programs. They're both in the DFW area. University of Texas in Austin has an Alternate Entry MSN program for persons holding a bachelor's degree.
Surely those aren't the only ones; maybe some of the others here know of more!!!
Good luck and let us know what you find out! I've been attempting to compare time & money for the accelerated programs versus time & money for a regular program. All the programs I've looked at want the pre-requisites completed prior to applying. So it looks as though that's the place to start.
Again, good luck and keep us posted! ... and welcome.

UTA also has a BSN program... Baylor does... I think that's it for the DFW area!

TCU (http://www.hsn.tcu.edu/) has one as well.
This may be of some help as well:

My husband was accepted into a ADN program in the Houston area on his first try. He had a BS degree in psyc. with about a 2.9 GPA and a MS in HR Management with about a 3.85 GPA. He actually got in without having a couple of the prerequisites...maybe being a male helped?? I have heard that it can be pretty tough to get it!
How many students do SFA take?
I only applied to oen school, Stephen F Austin. I innitially didnt get in, but then did as an alternate. my gpa was 2.8. It wasn't bcuz thats the best I could do, I was just stupid and didnt feel like going to class during some of my pre reqs. But once I got into nursing school, everything's been fine, and I'm graduating in december :)
