I have about 7 pairs of pants and around 15 (print) tops. I've never had colors fade on me, I just get rid of them when they rip or get holes, or when the bottoms get too shabby (on the pants).
We have a resident at my current job, though, who is notorious for ripping scrubs when you're trying to care for him, so I'm going through them at a much quicker pace.
I have maybe 10 tops now. Yesterday I actually got rid of several that I have never worn or only wore once. I even found a few brand new ones with the tags still attached that I bought and forgot I had.
I've never had to throw away a scrub top d/t the color fading. Every time one goes in the trash it's because I put bubble gum in my pocket and forget to take it out before putting it in the washer ().
I stick with solid-colored tops. My only print top went bye-bye yesterday. It was a hideous one and made me wonder if I had been drunk or stoned when I bought it.
CNAs/PCTs at my hospital have to wear solid khaki scrubs - tops and bottoms. I had 2 of each. I worked 12 hour shifts, so only 3 days a week...and even if my 3 days were in a row I could manage to do laundry one of the first two nights after I got home.
My scrubs did wear out/get icky pretty quickly - I usually bought a replacement set every 6 months. I'm a chubby girl and the fabric on the inseam of my pants would wear holes from me running up and down the halls all shift long. and uncapped pens and highlighters quickly made my pockets on my scrub tops look less-than-new.
I am SO glad I get to wear hospital-issue scrubs now!

Just wondering how pair of scrubs do you own?
And how long does the colors last before you throw away?
Do you like to wear solid or print scrubs, or both?
Thx for sharing:)
