It depends on whether or not the school you are applying to uses NursingCAS for applications. NursingCAS is nice in that its a centralized application where you send your transcripts and what not to one place and they send it out to each school you apply to. Letters of recommendations are completed / submitted online directly to NursingCAS from the writer. There are many schools that have supplemental applications and many that don't use NursingCAS yet, so that can be a pain. NursingCAS is similar to AMCAS for medical school and CASPA for PA programs. More and more nursing programs are using NursingCAS but not all yet. Good luck
I applied to three, but what I thought was my first choice pre-interviews ended up being my last choice (which is fine because I didn't get accepted anyway), and what was my last choice pre-interview ended up being my first choice post-interviews. Interviews are an important time to really dig into the programs, ask a lot of questions, and see how organized the school is. Make them sell themselves to you as much as you are selling yourself to them. I had one interview where I sat in a room alone for 45 minutes in the middle of being interviewed by 2 individuals that asked me the exact same questions. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. Don't settle for a school that you don't get a good feeling from, remember you have to commit the next 27-30+ months of your life to them and there's a chance the bad feeling could be a common theme.

Just wondering how many schools the majority of people applied to. Some people I know applied to 10+, others only 2-3.
