How many questions determine whether or not you pass or fail NCLEX-PN?

I took my boards on Thursday Jan. 20th and I was so nervous. I know they told us the questions could range from 85 to 205 questions. I had to take the whole 205. Is this good or bad? I am so nervous. By me being in Alabama we do not have quick results so I am so scared. What does it mean by the number of questions that you have. Is it the more you have the more they want you to redeem your self or what? I have a friend that is a RN and she said the first time she failed it with 85 and when she took it again she passed with all 265 questions. How do you know? Just needed some input while I wait.

I took mine today and got all 205 questions. I am so nervous. I got to wait till Monday to find out if I passed. I know it does not mean that I failed but I still am scared.

Congratulations for passing with 205 questions.

It just goes to show the number of questions is only the number of questions and not an indicator of pass or fail.

I had all 205 questions and I passed the 1st time, I had a friend who had 85 questions and passed the 1st time. Good luck to you!!! Check your results online, it it so nerve wracking waiting for the results.

Just took NCLEX today. My PC shut off after 85 questions too. I am in Wisconsin..... so hopefully I can find out by early PM tomorrow seeing as how Madison downloads all of the results every Wednesday. So, to my fellow cheeseheads, try and schedule for a Monday or Tuesday.

Doesnt matter, mine shut off at 107 (odd # huh?) Passed first shot. Was certain I had failed. It's anybodies guess, but good luck!

You are right about that!!! I passed!!! I really thought I had failed. What a relief!! Because I had the full 205 questions I really thought it was over.

i took my boards friday and my computer shut off around 90 questions! i was sure i failed until i checked my quick results and.... im officially a licensed practical nurse!

Also congrats to you.

Those days between taking the boards and getting the results were the worst of my life. Just waiting to see if I passed or failed. My friend is going through it now.
