How Many Points Did You Have?

Hey everyone.

I've been an LPN for the past 10 years, and have finally decided to do the bridge program at Valencia College (Orlando, FL).

I met with my adviser today and found that I'm sitting at 43 points. She said that put me smack dab in the middle so she couldn't tell me what chances I had of making it into the bridge program.

Has anyone else applied to the Advanced Standing Track at Valencia? How many points did you get and did you get in with those points or not?

Any suggestions on how to be more competitive if I don't happen to get in this cycle? I can't retake anything since I don't have anything below a B (they only let you retake if you have a D or an F).

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Looks like when I apply I'll only have 39 points thanks to a low overall GPA haunting me from my BS degree 5 years ago. Do I even have a chance?

It depends on who else applies during the cycle you apply. The bar is different each cycle. They take the highest points from the applications received and work down from there. I had a 43 and got an alternate position. I had a bad semester about 8 years ago which hurt my GPA too, so I understand the frustration. Good luck!
