How Many Points Did You Have?

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Hey everyone.

I've been an LPN for the past 10 years, and have finally decided to do the bridge program at Valencia College (Orlando, FL).

I met with my adviser today and found that I'm sitting at 43 points. She said that put me smack dab in the middle so she couldn't tell me what chances I had of making it into the bridge program.

Has anyone else applied to the Advanced Standing Track at Valencia? How many points did you get and did you get in with those points or not?

Any suggestions on how to be more competitive if I don't happen to get in this cycle? I can't retake anything since I don't have anything below a B (they only let you retake if you have a D or an F).

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks so much!

I just got an email from Valencia. I had emailed them a few days back to see if they would confirm whether they had actually received my application (I mailed it in).

Anyways, they just emailed saying they had gotten my application (thank GOD) and that the decisions would be emailed out "in a few days". Soooo we'll know next week!

I am starting the generic track in spring! It took about 9 weeks for me to hear back, so hopefully it won't be as long for you all. But be prepared to get a lot done in a short amount of time! (Titers, CPR, that fun stuff) good luck to you all!!

Congratulations on getting in! Thankfully I have all that stuff ready to upload since I had to get it all done for UCF a few semesters ago.

What do we need for the bridge program, I already have cpr.

You'll have to have all your immunizations, physical, CPR (which you have), and we'll have to get the background check redone to the tune of $190. If I get in, I'm going to see if we can get around that if ours is current (mine still is). It's not a deal breaker of course, but it'd be nice to not have to pay for that again.

The results are in!

I was placed on the alternate list for Spring, but guaranteed a spot for Summer!! If I don't get a seat for January, I'm guaranteed to start in May!!!

Good luck lpn_mom!!

It's a no for me :-/

I'm so sorry lpn_mom.

Will you try to reapply for Summer? I didn't think I would get in so I had pulled up some backup programs juts in case.Check out the Polk county LPN-RN. There was another one. I'll find the links and post them.

Please don't give up. I'm here if you want to talk *hugs*

ETA: I just remembered, the second one was Central Florida College.

Here's the link to that one: Nursing — Licensed Practical Nurse to Associate Degree Nursing Bridge

I want to try to apply for summer and I will look into the other schools. Thank you

The link is for central Florida College?

In the email from Valencia she said 66 people applied to the program .

Yes, the link is for the lpn-rn bridge for Central Florida College.

When I talked to the adviser at Valencia when I applied, she said that they usually have the lowest amount of applicants for Spring. She said that the Summer and Fall ones were more competitive. It wouldn't hurt to put in a packet for Valencia, Polk, and Central Florida College. That you might get to have your pick for the Summer term.
