I have 7years in so far, and at times I am tired of being a nurse! If I could change anything it would be start the RN program sooner. Not very pleased with how LPNs in my area are being treated.

Not so much tired of being a nurse as tired of the disappointing employment situation. Nobody wants to be forced to move from their home because they can't get a job. Or to sit by the phone, day after day, waiting to get a shift, because somebody else does not want to work. That is no way to maintain your wallet or your self respect. And who went to nursing school so they could live in their car? Really, who did?
Thats so true! It took me a month to here back from a job just to work prn in a snf! Thank god I have a full time job and just wanted to pick up hours!

1. I've been in nursing for a total of five and a half years (a little more than four years as an LVN and a little more than one year as an RN).
2. Nursing is definitely not my passion. While I do not hate nursing, I'd be just as happy (or happier) doing something else that involved lower stress and less abuse from the public.
3. I would do something that did not involve too much face-to-face contact such as call centers, freelance writing, food critiquing, etc.

With a year experience that feels like I have been in nursing for 10 years I am tired of no respect for new grads when they come onto the floor, short staffed all the time, next nurse coming onto shift constantly shows up late and management doesn't seem to mind because once again short staffed, new grads who want to work and can't find jobs when I know goodness well that more nurses are needed on the floor.

After two years of being a LPN and future RN I am tired of nursing sometimes, however I would not trade this career for the world. I just need to find my niche thats, all .

I've been doing this for over 11 years now. Still enjoy it. For all the idiotic crap I have to put up with, I work with a great group (with only a couple of exceptions) and actually like my job.
I've been in the same position for over seven years now, and if it weren't for the fact that I want to get my NP and need ICU experience I'd say that I couldn't see leaving anytime in the foreseeable future.
