Hi, it all depends on how many questions you will answer on the test. I am an extremely slow test taker, and I know there is no way I can finish 265 questions in 6 hours. So when I took the nclex this tuesday, my goal was to spend as much time as I need for each question and answer as few question as possible. I wasn't sure I had the tenacity to do 265 questions either. I read each question at least 3 times, and really spend a long time trying to go through the Kaplan steps. The computer shut off at 75 questions, and I passed. I think it's worth it to go slow and steady...(I was kind of shocked at how slow I was..so i'm really thankful that it worked out for me that way). Good luck with the test!!
with a bathroom/water break, it took me two and a half hours. So in that rate, I'll probably only finish 180-200 questions in six hours. I can rush myself and finish questions a lot faster, but since nclex doesn't time individual questions, I thought it was OK to go slow. I hope other people would leave some comment, because every person takes the test different. I have friends who finished 75 questions in an hour and passed with flying colors. That's just not me...

I usualy take my time with all tests. I read each question probably 3 times. Is this going to hurt me if i dont finish the test within the 6 hours?
