  1. I will get the book ordered thanks...is there any other "self-study" materials that you recommended, or does the ACLS book cover all the needed information?
  2. I wasn't sure if my "future employer" would provide the book, or not. Money is a little tight and I wanted to start reviewing info that i could find on-line for free. I will take your advice and get it ordered. Is there just 1 book?
  3. Hello, I am a new grad and passed NCLEX on 8/8/12. I am waiting for a job, and would like to start reviewing for ACLS. I dont plan on buying the book, however I will if needed. What kind of review/studying can I do while I have the time? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks
  4. Well thats a hard question to answer healthstar...They all helped out equally. I had lots of priority & Delegation questions, sooooo that book prob would rank as #1.
  5. This worked for me...(I studied everyday for a minimum of 2 hrs and a max of 5 for 4+ weeks !!! ) -I have Saunders CD only, no book, I did all the 10 question quizzes and book marked the questions I got wrong and reviewed those more in detail. I also did the 75 question assessment. Make sure you understand the rationales to all the questions!!! - La-charity delegation & prioritization book helped me out a lot! Do all 18 chapters and READ & UNDERSTAND rationals! - The study guide found on this site...print, read, highlight, and look up what you dont know...know infection control mnemonics - I had five 100 pg 3x5 spiral bound note cards that I broken down by system with what I thought was important (ex...heart, renal, liver, lungs, infection control, meds (Dig, theophylline, Dilantin..., know toxic levels and S&S) ,labs ect... - My last 3 days before the test I read over the study guide & my note cards along with practice questions in the evenings (Practice questions are VERY IMPORTANT). - I had a friend come over who tested with me the same day and we reviewed my cards and we just talked out loud to each other on the various info....this helps! - The NCLEX wasnt as bad as i thought...DO NOT rush, read and understand what the question is asking. It took me 2.5 hours to complete 75 questions. -I had 22 SATA, 1 pic, 1 rhythm strip & 1 math Finally...stay positive, put in the study time, and most important pray!
  6. I felt the test was easier than I expected, but I studied TONS and did close to 4000 questions. 75 questions in 2.5 hrs with 22 SATA. Question #75 wasa a SATA and I spent like 10 minutes making sure it was right!
  7. Went to bed at 2100 and woke up this morning at 0500. I wasnt as nervous as I thought i would be. Started test at 0815 and finished 75 questions 2.5 hrs later!!! (I really took my time). Here is the breakdown: -22 SATA -1 Math (and I couldn't remember if Ice cream was a liquid) -1 picture -1 rhythm strip -LOTS of priority & Delegation -Lots of infection Control Hints to the upcoming NCLEX test takers: -Saunders CD questions (do as many as possible) -Lacharity Prioritization & Delegation -Bustza review class (Ohio)
  8. Lovemykids125...I sent my $75 to OBN probably the end of May (cant remember), and was pending on 6/25 then received my ATT # on 6/27 via email. I would call them. A couple of friends were waiting too. They called and received ATT within 2 days.
  9. Ditto...0800! Im in Ohio!
  10. NICUOH, are you in OHIO by chance? Just taking a guess based on your user name. This is what I have been told from my friends who took the test already..."Stop studying and do practice questions." Another friend said, " Chris, relax. You got this. Stop studying it won't help, the test is all about reading carefully to make sure you know what the question is asking you." I am the kind of person who has to study until test day, so i am studying and doing questions from Saunders CD, and I bought the Lacharity delegation book last week at Barnes & Noble. I heard this book is a must have, and I'm so glad i bought it because my scores at the beginning were not to good! Make sure you spend some time with the delegation & prioritization and Infection control if your weak in those areas...Some people are getting lots of those questions!
  11. I found this on Google from American Nurse Today. It helped me learn them!!! Here is the PDF link... http://www.americannursetoday.com/assets/0/434/436/440/5120/5122/5154/5156/904adb93-6d32-4770-83d7-e6f1ad1667d2.pdf
  12. Ditto!!! I feel the same way, and I also test on the 8th at 0800! I purposefully chose a later date so i could study. I think i have studied all but 7 days since graduation on May 12th!
  13. Look at this site http://www.ed4nurses.com/abgtoday.aspx
  14. Thanks for replying....how long did the 75 questions take you?
  15. I usualy take my time with all tests. I read each question probably 3 times. Is this going to hurt me if i dont finish the test within the 6 hours?
