  1. Oztizz-agreed! I love your positive attitude and I woke up this morning telling myself that today is the day I am going to become and RN! I will also paying the extra $$ for the quick results- I want to know for sure!! virtual hug! so proud of you! (and anyone else who passed today/ took the test- this is a very emotional process!)
  2. YAY!! Congrat Oztizz, you deserve it! I do believe having confidence in yourself helps a lot. We got through nursing school and we can get through anything. I will admit that I thought the NCLEX was so hard and my test shut off at 75 questions- I had so many SATA's (I should have counted how many I had total but I would not be surprised if I had like 30-35) and only a few infection...?! I was expecting more. I am glad this test is over, but never doubt yourself and your abilities. You can do anything that you put your mind to. :)
  3. Thanks Oztizz- I tired to message you back but I wasn't able to (I guess I am not active enough, lol). But we studied hard and deserve it!!! I will try to be more active so I can message! How did anyone else do that has taken the NCLEX?
  4. Hi guys- Sorry I haven't been online lately- I banned myself from the internet! I hope everyone's NCLEX experience went well. I just got home from my exam, attempted the PVT trick and i got the good pop up. To say that I am freaking out is in understatement. Best of luck to anyone else who is taking the exam and have faith in yourself. :)
  5. Here is the link for the study guide!! https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/nclex-study-guide-622449.html :)
  6. oztizz- i really focused on trainers 6 & 7 because they were "higher level" tests (used application and analysis levels on blooms taxonomy) and i have aimed to get above 65% in both tests. if you find any tests of those online, try them out! i like the higher level questions, because i want to be prepared for all sorts of questions. chris- yes! i am in oh (name gives it away, lol). many of my friends have also said that too, and i am just telling myself, if they can do it and pass then i sure as heck can as well! i will have to look at this lacharity book when i get a chance. and thanks for the input: i do struggle a bit with airborne vs droplet precautions but i found a helpful acronym online so i think i got it! all there is to do is just study!
  7. I'm on my 2nd round- LOL. I find it useful as an overall review so I may review it a couple more times, I do like how it gives useful tools to remember the FHR and what it means: OB is my weakest subject. I think I am going to study a few hours a day and review major content until the big day. We know the content, it is time to work on our relaxation. I may just have to give yoga a try this week LOL! :)
  8. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Go out for a walk (depending on where you live/time it is right now). Have a drink  say a prayer and give yourself a pat on the back. You studied for this big day and you got through nursing school: those two things in themselves is a big deal. Focus on what the question is asking, and ask yourself "what is the one thing I can do for this patient before I go home". Take deep breaths and expect to feel like you did not pass when you walk out of the testing center- that is how the test is design. I know you are going to do great. :)
  9. With Kaplan, they taught us the Decision Tree- and some people like it and some don't, however, I do like how it makes you stop and think about what is being asked: do you assess or implement, is it physical or psychosocial (pain= pyschosocial so throw it out!) do ABCs apply, and ask yourself "what is the one thing I can do before I go home that is safe for the patient". Even when I work I used the decision tree (nerd I know). You are being proactive and studying that is half of the battle right there. Just keep on studying and show them what you got. It never hurts to be over-prepared than to be underprepared. (Even though I know I will most likely be crying after this exam, but hey, I gave it my all and that's all I can do!) I also know that there is a "allnurses study" guide floating around on here. Google it and print it out (not at home- it's 38 pages, woof!) I have been looking over that and I find it helpful as well. It doesn't hurt to look it over. :)
  10. I am so sorry to hear about this. Take some time off, regroup yourself, and show the NCLEX who is boss. You got through nursing school and you CAN do this. :redbeathe
  11. Oztizz- I have the Kaplan RN Course Book and through my school (probably hidden somewhere in the tuition fees) we have online access to the QBank/ Questions Trainers, and an online video review of the content (Health Promotion, Pharm, etc) and a review of the rationale of the questions. I also have a Saunders book that I look at for reference and answer some questions. :)
  12. Thanks everyone for the input :) I am naturally an anxious person by nature :uhoh21: and I'm perfectionist so naturally I want to study all the time to make sure that I gave it my all. To Oztizz and Chris: we got this, time to show them what we can do! I do agree that confidence is the main issue at hand and to go into this examination with the mind set that "we will pass" will help ease a majority of the problem. We can only take one day at a time and give it our all.
  13. Hi All! I have been a long time lurker to this site, and I am taking the NCLEX RN examination next week (August 8th). I feel that the common theme among test takers is anxiety, lack of confidence and self-doubt: and those statements are my main issues at this time. I graduated with my BSN this past May and I am already employed as a nursing assistant at a children's hospital. Many of my friends have taken the NCLEX and have passed. I feel that I have wasted my summer studying and haven't been able to enjoy this exciting time in my life due to this overwhelming anxiety and worry that I won't obtain my license. Through my school I have taken Kaplan: so far, I have taken over 5,000 practice questions and I feel confident with the Decision Tree. I just feel like I have not even studied enough (I sorta know the lab values, kind of remember the meds, etc). but I feel as if I need to be focusing on these issues and I just get so overwhelmed. I know that this is a common feeling everyone experiences but I just want to take this test once.
