  1. I spoke with several nurses at Work who work for agencies that have plenty of psych nurse positions, and I have discovered dozens of them just by checking out their websites. I love psych so I have no intention I. straying from that area. But thank you.
  2. There are actually many traveling psych nurses. I work with many myself. Perhaps I will just speak to them and get their insite. I know a couple who mentioned American Mobile and may look into that. I have used this forum before years ago and had absolutely no issues what so ever getting a response. I think I will look into another forum or simply apply to a travel agency and decide if I like it for myself.
  3. Thanks NedRN! :)
  4. Hi all! I am a psych RN with one year experience and charge nurse experience. I have been looking into travel nursing jobs for psych nurses and think this would be a great opportunity for learning and growth. Is there anyone who has experience in psych travel nursing who knows of any good travel nurse agencies out there? What would you recommend? Thank you all in advance! :)
  5. Finally I got it to work!
  6. Thank you! I will try that. I have not heard of the Don Anderson Review Class. I'm in NE and everyone seemed to use either Kaplan or Hurst Review. Kaplan is incredibly expensive though and I can't afford at the moment. :/
  7. Hey everyone, I would like to use NCLEX 4000 as a study tool for practice questions. However I am told this will not work with Windows 8. Does anyone know of a good review program that is compatible with Windows 8? Thank you for the help in advance! I always get a lot of help/support from you all!
  8. Is it expensive? How long does it take? Is it like the Hurst review? Because I did their live review when I was in school :/
  9. Also I have used a lot of resources so far for studying. I have used La Charity PDA book, HESI, Saunders review book and questions, NCLEX 4000, and then I also tried the learningext program but had to get a refund because it wouldn't work on my computer (not compatible with Windows 8 they said). Am I doing something wrong? Is there actually a review course out there that will actually help me?
  10. So I graduated with my BSN a year ago now. I have taken the NCLEX 3 times and failed. I am really dissapointed in myself as I felt very confident when I went to take the test for the third time (just recently) and still didn't make it (I got the credit card screen, it never fails). I have no idea what to do. I have dedicated 4 years of my life in school, and an entire year studying and preparing for this exam only to fail 3 times. I have spent an insane amount of money on review courses, books, questions, not to mention the actual exam and the license I have to apply for before I can take it. It has been such an emotional roller coaster for me and I have truly been studying hard and I'm still failing. What do I have to do? I am tired of being a tech, the pay here in Nebraska for a tech is not good at all and financially I am really struggling. So now I don't just have the worry of not passing boards, but the worry of how I'm supposed to financially support myself. I am at the point where I am losing hope that I will ever be a nurse. My question is however, even though I went to school and got my BSN, can I take boards for the LPN? I will not get paid much more but I will at least have a nursing job? Has this happened before? Also if that is not possible, am I able to get a job with my degree that does not require a nursing license? Thank you in advance for any advice and support, it is much appreciated.
  11. I am sorry to hear that! I know exactly how you feel. I have failed the NCLEX 3 times so far You are not alone!
  12. Thank you both! I actually have the saunders book, I am pretty sure it is the newest version but not 100% sure. Does it matter how new it is? Or do I need to have the latest version? Thank you again, I appreciate the advice! :)
  13. So I have failed the NCLEX twice so far. I just finished the online Hurst review and I'm taking the Q Review tests right now. I have been scoring between 65 and 72% and it is really starting to discourage me. I also started reading the LaCharity Book for prioritization, delegation, etc and have been getting about 70-75% on those questions. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am tired of spending money on all these books and programs to help me study and it's making me feel so overwhelmed, I have no idea where to start. I will study one area, then test on it, realize I'm weak in another area, and before you know it I have forgotten what I studied before! It has been 5 months since I last took the NCLEX, and 10 months since I graduated from nursing school. I don't know what to do anymore. I am getting pressured by my family and friends asking me when I am going to take the NCLEX again, but in reality I am afraid to take it because I'm afraid I'm going to spend all that money on an exam that I'm going to fail. I was hoping someone could give me advice on how they study for boards? Like how long do you study for, how do you break it up into sections, etc. Anyone use Hurst review who thinks it worked well for them? How do you study pharm and lab values? I seem to have a hard time in those areas. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  14. Thank you for your advice and encouragement :) It truly means a lot
  15. I used NCLEX 4000 and I used questions off the Saunders CD as well. I took the Hurst Review while I was in nursing school.
