How many hours of clinicals do traditional nursing schools offer?

Some of my fellow nurses have asked me hour many hours of clinicals I had with EC, and I explained my CPNE, but I am now curious as to how many hours brick and mortars offer in a year? As I see students come and out of our department, they are purely in "observation" mode, but this is the OR. I am now wondering how many actual hours are spent in using actual skills vs observation.

Hi loops,

Traditional school clinical hours can range anywhere from 1800-2000 hrs. I have done 1800 hrs so far at a community college, I have one semester left.

Interesting! So, for a LPN coming into a an associate degree program, I suppose it is roughly 1000 hours? I am trying to remember how many hours we did as LPN students (this was almost 20 years ago) I thought we did 5 hours (as half days) a week in a 9 month school year, but I can't be sure.

I did 800 in Lpn school 2 years ago but the requirement was 450 I think. The local RN B&M program does 900.

I completed 954 clinical hours while attending an LVN program in California.

I completed 280 clinical hours while attending an LPN-to-RN completion program in Oklahoma.
