the cc i applied for has a 1 to 2 year waitlist. i just can't wait that long so. i found a school that does not have a waiting list for lpn. i will start fall 08 instead of fall 10 for the adn program. i just wonder did anyone else decided to take the route i'm taking.

well, im looking into applying to 3 local community colleges, the one im at im going to apply for the rn program. my school doesnt have a wait list, you either get in or you dont, if you dont u try again next year. im planning on applying for the other 2 community colleges lpn program as backups....i want to be a nurse, either way that will happen, if i get into one of the lpn programs and not the rn im going to go back to school and bridge into an rn program

I just returned to my local community college last semester for my nursing prereqs and as of 2007 they no longer have a wait list as they used to for years. Now They will accept 50 students for spring and another 50 students for fall of the following term, applications received in March 2008. You can't have any prereqs concurrently being taken - everything basically has to be completed by the time you apply. And if you don't get in, you apply again the following March.

I am taking Physiology this semester and next semester I'll take Microbiology, which means that I won't be eligible to apply until march '09. In the meantime I've been accepted at a local vocational school for the LVN program that runs during the weekends for 18 months and I will be attending the orientation to make sure if the program is for me. This way, I'll still be able to go to school for my prereqs, work, and do the LVN during the weekends (like I will have a life outside of all this....)

By July '09 I'll be done with LVN. Who knows what will happen if I simply wait till I get accepted next year during my first try to apply?

I completed an LVN program in late 2005. If all goes well, I will try to get into a trade school RN program within the next few months.

I did, I live in Oregon and it is really hard to get into an RN program here. I found out about LPN to RN programs from a classmate while I was still taking prereq's. I am in my 3rd term and will be done at the end of August. I then will transfer to one of the schools in the area that have the LPN to RN option. I already have the prereq's done so I will not have to waste any time. Good Luck on what every you choose to do!!

i chose LVN first as I have to work days to pay bills. so I go nights/weekends. classes start every 8 weeks or so. no wait list, either. and by the time I graduate, the school is going to be starting up their RN bridge, too.

I chose lpn, plan to bridge next year.

the lpn in my area has a waiting list.

the rn has a 1.5-2 year wait..

My scores bumped me into the lpn no wait.

For me, this means i can start working sooner. Once im on-board at a local hospital they will pay for my bridge classes.

I've done the pre-reqs for both and will go for whichever one is lucky enough to accept me first!! ;) :redbeathe
