So I just recieved my letter today telling me which classes I need to sign up for...There are 7 classes listed there! The Classes are: Nurs 102 Issues and Trends of Nursing I, Nurs 103 Fundamentals of Nursing, Nurs 105 Nursing Lab I, Nurs 107 Mental Health Nursing, Nurs 109 Basic Nutrition for Nursing, Nurs 111 Medical-Surgical nursing I, and Nurs 119 Dosage Calcualtions for Nursing.

Is this how many classes I am supposed to take the first quater??? did anybody else take this many classes?? Just seems like a lot, 7 classes for the first quater??

We have to take A&P, Nursing Fundamentals, PVR, Common Emergencies, Geriatrics, Math and Pharmacology, Nutrition, and intro Med Surg., and all the while we have onsite clinicals that we do so that we can check off on the basic skills. We have to be checked off on all of our basic skills before we can attend clinicals in our 2nd trimester.

I took 5 classes plus clinicals. But some of the classes ended in a few weeks while others took the whole semester. Check to see how many weeks some of the classes are and talk to your adviser

Our program is set up as 3 classes and it is made up of combo classes. If we broke it down it would be similar to yours I am sure, We have:

Nur169 is Lab, ROS ( review of systems), Clinical, and Dosage and Calculations

Nur161 is Adult Health aka Med/surg, Fundamentals, Nutrition, & Mental Health Nursing

Nur 167 is our Pharmacology class w/ Dosage Caluculations too (of course)

So yeah yours sounds about right if they break them down and assign more credits to them, they can charge more :nuke:

We don't have classes per se. We have one long class consisting of different subjects. When you registered you only registered for one class. Remember how you used to sit in the same desk and classroom in elementary school, that's how it is. Of course we get frequent breaks but thats how it is. We covered each subject for bout an hour or two.

We had Fundamentals, Med Surg 1, Lab, Clinicals, and AP1. Second semester we have Med Surg 2, Clinicals, Med Surg 3, Clinicals, Pharm and AP2. Its really kicking my butt to be honest. We are expected to learn just as much every week for Pharmacology as we are for Med Surg, except that our Pharm class meets 1 day a week for 2 hours and our Med Surg class meets 2 days a week for 3 hrs each day. Its a lot. But its only 1 year thankfully.

I couldn't do this for a lifetime, but I can put up with it for 161 more days and counting.
