How does the LPN to RN bridge work?

Just curious. I want to be an RN but can't be in school for 4 years. I wanted to start as an LPN (starting classes in January 2008 probably) and then do the bridge. What about the university of Phoenix program? Anyone know how that works? I have no pre reqs so I know I would have to take those. Can I do them online? Is the program completely online? What about the on campus courses? I need as much info as possible. Anything will help.

I don't know anything about the University of Phoenix but have found that our local community colleges all vary in their bridge programs. I've also found that taking the pre-reqs at a community college is often cheaper than doing it online just make sure they accept them. Good luck, Jules

The University of Phoenix does not have an LPN-to-RN program. They only have an RN-to-BSN program, and this requires that you must already be an RN at the associate's degree or diploma level before applying.

One of my local LVN-to-RN programs only has 4 prerequisite classes that can be completed in one semester. Many of the local LVN-to-RN programs only have 6 prerequisite classes or fewer, then the RN program takes only 1 additional year.
