Also what I hear works great is dropping a thank you note after the interview. Obviously wouldn't apply for this time around but if you have to interview in future that is something to keep in mind. I always thought that was corney then a recruiter came to our school to drop some tips and that was a biggie. That and the follow up phone calls.
I absolutely agree with the thank you note, and I keep one with me at the interview. Once I am done I go to my car and write the thank you card with three positive things spoken about at the interview and address it to the interviewer and mail it on my way home!
The places that hired me all said that that is what helped get me the job...that people just don't do that much anymore and showed I had good work ethics and valued the time of the interviewer!
Thank you all so much, I am so glad to be able to come here for advice! I can't tell you how much it has helped me keep my head straight during this whole process!
I am going to call and let them know I am still interested and hope to hear from them. I sent thank you notes to both the recruiter and the manager the day after my interview, I took the great advice off this site and am sooo glad I did it. I am hoping that I stood out from all the other new grads-- in talking with other students who have applied, they looked at me like I had 2 heads when I mentioned about sending TY notes and follow ups, so I am praying to stand out from my peers! I want this position so much, and I hate to go on other interviews in the meantime knowing I would take this job if it is offerred, KWIM?
On a funny note, I know I am seeming like a spaz about this job/all the anxiety...in real life I am super-cool under pressure, everyone thinks I am calm and collected. I feel like this is the only place I can really let it out!

How long do you wait to follow up on a job interview if you have not heard back? I am getting antsy, the recruiter told me I should hear from them in "about 10 days," and it's been 15 days since my interview. However, I am kinda torn about calling to follow up, because I know that the person that interviewed me had a issue and was out of work for a few days-- I mentioned to an RN I worked with that I had applied for a certain position, and she told me the info about the person who interviewed me. Obviously, I would not ever mention that I knew this (it actually makes me uncomfortable knowing this anyway, and I have kept it to myself, none of my business).
Do you follow up on interviews if you have not head from them by the time they said they would let you know? How long do you wait? And do you do it by phone or by email?
