How long does it take to get your DPS Fingerprint Card back?

Published

Im new to the state and want to apply for the LPN programs and I wanted to know how long does it take to get the card back. You have to have it before you can even apply to the programs. Thank you

Hello.. Can someone guide me in the direction of a place that does them digitally? You say it's faster that way?? Do they send everything electronically then? what about your check?

Some fingerprinting locations use digital technology to scan your fingerprints onto the fingerprint card instead of using old-fashioned ink and rolling your inky fingers onto the fingerprint card. The digital technology scans the image of the fingerprints to check and see if they are clear enough that it is predicted that DPS will accept the fingerprints. If so, then a digital printer prints your fingerprints onto the fingerprint card and they give it back to you for you to mail in. The benefit of the digital scanning is having a high likelihood of your prints not being rejected by DPS due to not being clear enough because they are computer checked for clarity.

You've got to ask each location if they use the ink on paper method or digital scanning. Either method will require you to take the fingerprint card (digitally scanned or rolled ink) and mail it with your check to DPS.
