How long did it take for you to get accepted into your lpn program?

I did get accepted my first try, thank goodness.

I don't think getting into ANY nursing program is easy. Aside from the prerequisites, there's the mountain of paperwork for the application. Then, most schools will have cut the list to form a list of people to interview. I almost puked when I got that letter in the mail. The interview process will vary but mine was 10 minutes in front of 8 nursing staff members and was rapid fire and intimidating. They usually cull the list further from there. When I got that acceptance letter I DID puke. I also nearly fainted.

Nursing school so far (just finished second week) is all consuming. If I'm not at school I am studying or working on homework. That's about it. Oh yeah...maybe I do a little sleeping. I really am trying to devote a little time each day to doing something fun or recreational or pampering. I had my first exam yesterday and I had a complete and total meltdown...the instructor didn't give us a study guide til the day before and there was a ton on it I swear NEVER got covered in class, plus she told us she didn't expect many of us to do well on this first exam. So I cried while my husband held me. I cried long and hard because it had been one of the most stressful weeks of my life and I felt like i'd been running on adrenaline for DAYS.

I got a B on that exam by the way. Because I worked hard.

So whatever you do...while you're on the road to that application day, work hard. And when you get there, keep working hard. And one day it'll pay off.

I got accepted on my first try. I was thrilled to get in; moreso when I found out how many people didn't get in (about 85% of the applicants got rejection letters, and one of my classmates finally got in on her third try!).

I'm at the end of my first week, and it's a little more intense than I was expecting, but I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I'm hyper-organized, and I really think that's the key in being as prepared and efficient as possible. The amount of reading I've done so far is immense and the sleep deprivation is already hitting. We have our first exam on Tuesday so we'll see how well I'm absorbing all of this new information then!

I got into nursing school on my first try, alot of the girls that did the entrance exam with me told me that was there third and fourth try to get into the school. Quess I should be eternally grateful that I was able t get in on the first go.

I got accepted on my first try for the LPN program. I was already attending a CC and I applied for a BSN program at another college. I got a letter saying I was an alternate and I could reapply for the next semester (I later got accepted for the spring), but I didn't want to wait so the next day I applied for the LPN program at my school, a week before the deadline, and took the TEAS test the day after that, and was accepted within a week.

I was accepted the first time. I know that less than half that made it to the test(ours was a CTBS test) ended up being accepted. We only have 14 spots every two years and no waiting list.

I'm surprised that any school has a no waiting list, and what school is it?

In our province there is no longer a waiting list, you're either accepted or you're not, when you apply. If you're not accepted you need to reapply for the next intake(in our school they do intake every 2 years). There used to be a 3 year wait list but they changed the application process from first qualified, first admitted to a competitive entry.
