Hi Christy, ummmm......I haven't worked as a nurse yet. Next week I hope to get a job. There are two rual hospitals that want to interview me. As an LPN, my choices are limited, especially for a new grad. I let you know when I get hired.

RN 7 years. OB/GYN/Newborn nursing the whole time. Love my coworkers. Love my job. But then I am only perdiem, so I don't work fulltime and guess I appreciate it more. NO regrets.

RN since 2000. Work primarily in research (first psych, now federally funded studies) but also have a part-time job in psychiatry to pay my daughter's college bills.

Specializes in Med/Surge, Psych, LTC, Home Health.

Hi Christy! I've been an RN for a little over a year, but I was an aide for four years before that. I have always worked in med-surge, but I do not like it. I liked it "okay" when I was an aide, but as a nurse, I don't like the floor that I work on because I see SO MANY different things. I want to specialize, and the area that I am most interested in is psychiatric nursing. It's where I feel the most confortable. I loved my psychiatric rotation; I also loved getting pulled to the psychiatric unit, when my hospital used to have one.

Also, I live in Lawrenceburg, KY. About 25 minutes from Lexington, and about 45 minutes from Louisville.
