hey there,
I've been told this numerous times and I'll tell you-if you've graduated recently, there is no need to learn the book cover to cover. Start with the CD(exam mode), Identify your weak area(s), then go over those.
I attempted to learn stuff in the beginning, it doesn't really help. I, personally, benefitted a lot from this method.
All the best!

Thanks, but I graduated nursing program 10 years ago in foreign country and of course i remember most of the topics, but it's hard for me
If you read each chapter, then do the questions at the end would work. Then do the cd, when you have completed the book.Remember everyone's learning style is different so do what you feel is working.
I BEGIN TO READ CHAPTERS, SO MANY INFORMATION THAT I DON'T KNOW WHEN I CAN BE ABLE TO FINISH THIS BOOK.

All I can let you know, if you can answer the questions and know the rationales you are all set. I read each chapter in nursing school to help me pass my exams. Plus I have the second edition, so I don't know how many chapters are in the new one. I would read one a day, just to familiarize myself with the information. I wish I could help you more, but I am still practicing 100 questions a day.
If you need help Suzanne the moderator is very helpful, she helped me with my situation.
I would allow at least three months to adequately prepare for the exam, if you are foreign trained. There are many new concepts for you to learn, quite different than the way that you practiced at home. Nurses in the US have much more autonomy than many other countries, we are responsible for doing a complete head to toe assessment on each of out patients every hsift, including evaluating heart tones, as well as breath sounds. Please let me know if you need help with these, I have some links that I can send to you that will be helpful.
There is quite a bit of material, try to read thru it, but do not stress over it.
I will help you with the other information that you need to have and know.
