I recently took and passed my boards (last Monday). I was anticipating seeing my license number pop up on the state BON (NJ) website however it's been days and it hasn't. Many of my classmates and co workers had theirs within a day or even hours of passing the NCLEX. My question is how long does it typically take? I had all my documentation, background check and application completed prior to this. I know getting the physical license will take some time but I would at least have thought my number would be up. I wouldn't be an anxious about it as I am but I have a job waiting for me and I need my RN license # to begin. I feel like I'm hanging out in purgatory continuing to work as a patient care tech. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The best advice is to call them on Monday and ask. Knowing when other people got their licenses hasn't helped you so far, so why continue to ask?
Good luck!
I actually did call Friday and I explained I simply wanted to know as I have a job lined up. The woman I spoke to was uneccessarily rude and told me I just had to wait. If I don't have one in a month, call back then.
Well, there you go ...an answer straight from the source. You're not going to do better than that. One month sounds pretty good to me, but I'm in California and they take three months here.

I received my CA license within three weeks but that was 25 years ago.
