How long until I get a license?
I actually did call Friday and I explained I simply wanted to know as I have a job lined up. The woman I spoke to was uneccessarily rude and told me I just had to wait. If I don't have one in a month, call back then.

How long until I get a license?
I recently took and passed my boards (last Monday). I was anticipating seeing my license number pop up on the state BON (NJ) website however it's been days and it hasn't. Many of my classmates and co workers had theirs within a day or even hours of passing the NCLEX. My question is how long does it typically take? I had all my documentation, background check and application completed prior to this. I know getting the physical license will take some time but I would at least have thought my number would be up. I wouldn't be an anxious about it as I am but I have a job waiting for me and I need my RN license # to begin. I feel like I'm hanging out in purgatory continuing to work as a patient care tech. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cumberland County College NJ 2016
Thanks :) I got a 75 with my highest scores being in science. I also had all of my pre reqs completed. Did you apply anywhere else?

Cumberland County College NJ 2016
I received my acceptance via email on April 21st and I paid my deposit already to hold my seat. Orientation is June 14th. I called a couple days prior to getting the email and the woman told me that they would still be making decisions into June to accommodate students waiting on their final grades from biology and such.

Did you end up getting accepted?

I applied to ccc as well. From what I am told by people I work with, Cumberland county is easier to get into than some of the other area programs. They base acceptance on a point value system. I'm hearing a 70 and above for teas will get you in the RN program. May I ask what your teas score was? How about your GPA?

Generally, you would need a 4.0 in the pre-req's to be considered. You're teas score is pretty good but they will tend to look for those who have a 4.0 in the pre-reqs and then narrow those people down by their individual teas scores. I am not sure how many more students they will be accepting due to the night class being made available for the first time this fall (i'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-25 extra). Basically, ACCC is a VERY competitive program and it is not uncommon for people to apply more than once. I myself am apply with a 4.0 in my pre reqs and I will be taking my teas on Friday after 4 months of studying. If you don't get in, maybe try to look at other CC's in the area. I know Cumberland and Ocean county have different requirements. Also, you will most likely need to bring those grades up to at least an A-. Best of luck to you!

I have a 4.0 for my pre req's. Now I am just worried about getting a good score on the teas exam. I am hoping to get an 80 at least. How long did you have to wait before your heard whether or not you were accepted? Did you apply anywhere else?

New to the forum, any advice on being a tech??
It sounds like the hospital you work for is pretty awesome. Was this your first time in a health care setting? How long did it take you to acclimate to the job?

New to the forum, any advice on being a tech??
Hello all, I recently got my first job as a pca (tech) in a hospital. I am pretty nervous about working in a health care setting for the first time but I know this experience will benefit me greatly as I am applying to nursing school in the spring. I've heard good and bad things about being a tech. I basically know what to expect but my biggest fear is that I will hate this job. If anyone could give me some advice or tell me about their experience with being a tech, I would appreciate it.
