How long is each block MCCNDP?

Published

I am considering getting my LPN first and then going straight into block 3 of MCCNDP. I am wondering how long block 3 and 4are? Are they each 4 months/

I am trying to figure out which path would be shorter. LPN to Block 3 or just wait 1.5 years to get into the accelerated program. Thank you for any help

Donate! LOL! Good one! :yeah:

What can I say? I'm sure in these trying economic times, the viability and vitality of the hospital weighs heavy and is in the forethought of your mind.....

I am in block 4 weekend at GCC - They will not be taking advanced placement students placement students....that was from one of my instructors anyway....idk...

Is that only the weekend program from GCC or is that from all MCCNDP?

I heard it was all MCCNDP. But you might want to check specifically at whatever school you are intereseted in. They are offering a "bridge" course for those who complete block 3 if they want the LPN, but you can no longer sit for the LPN when you finish block two like we did. ..

I'm not quite sure I am following what you are saying. I was under the impression that if you go into the LPN program once you finish..... you can go straight into block 3 of the RN program (as long as pre reqs are done).

That is what a counselor told me and that is what it says on the MCC nursing website.

You are saying that they are doing away with this now?

no - if you go through blocks 1 and 2 you can go straight to block 3 as a continuing student. If you are LPN already (from previous) and are trying to go back to school and go from LPN to RN it's considered "advanced placement" and that is what my instructor said was stopping...no more "advanced placement". Also when I finished block 2 I was allowed to take the LPN boards just for finishing block 2. Now they aren't doing that anymore either without taking the special bridge course.... Sorry if I confused you.

Oh ok. Thanks for the clarification.
