How to increase time management

Hi all! I am a recent RN grad who just landed her first job at a Skilled & LTC facility around two months ago. When we were low in census, I seemed to be doing ok (I think), but now I have a full house of 25 pts. I think this is a really high number. My 8 hr shifts have incidentally become 12 hrs with no breaks. Most of the cna's I work with are accustomed to sitting around as much as possible. Whatever I could delegate to them, well its actually faster and easier to just do it myself. Management doesnt back us up. Can someone help me here?

25 seems crazy as a nurse, but many of the LTCs I frequent have more like 1 nurse to 30-34 patients with 2 aides to help. The nurses I've seen who seem in control and not stressed are those who are very good at delegating. They go to their techs and tell them what they want done. Nicely but with authority.

The ones who seemed overwhelmed are those who are too scared to tell the techs what to do and try to do it all themselves.

You have to get comfortable delegating or it will kill you.

I could never take the pressure of that environment. I'm glad to go in and do my job which is 1:1 and leave as fast as I can. Tough job and I truly admire those who have the skill to manage all those patients.
