My nursing license was revoked in 2010 because I had a substance abuse problem and at that time I did not feel that I would ever be happy being a nurse so I let it go. I wanted to focus on being and staying sober instead of dealing with the board of nursing. I have been clean for over 5 years now and I can't believe I made such a huge mistake. So now I want to fix it but I don't know how. Has anyone ever been through this? Is it even possible to get it back? I worked hard for my license and I can't believe I made such a huge mistake. Any advice that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Contact the BON and tell them to start the reinstatement process.

It depends on the state your license is in. Some states have you take their complete program. But that's something to ask other nureses in recovery in your state. Or call the board.
