It's not, at least my experience hasn't been too extreme so far. We'll see in the coming year.

I remember the first day of nursing school as one of the longest in my life. At least for my school, we had to get all of the formalities out of the way. This means a minimum of 1-2 hours introducing every important person at the college related to nursing. They congratulate you, congratulate themselves, talk about how awesome the college is etc. Then there is an enormous chunk of time talking about what is expected of you, policies/procedures, syllabus review, sign contracts regarding academic integrity and clinical behaviors, and so on.
It will seriously be the most boring day of nursing school, so please don't feel let down.

Then, this will be how you feel for the next couple of years:
...and in order to keep motivated, you'll tell yourself...
Enjoy this moment of excitement (because it's downhill from here until graduation lol). And savor any boring moment in nursing school, because boring is so much better than anxious and stressed. :)
