How should I dress for my first day?

My first day of orientation is this upcoming Monday. As far as I know for clinicals we are going to have to wear uniforms, but I'm not sure how to dress for regular class as it was never mentioned to me by my dean. I figured since it's summer I might just wear some kakhi shorts with tennis shoes and maybe a button-up shirt with the sleves folded up (descriptive, I know ;)). I just don't want to look disrespectable or anything.

How did you all dress for your first day of class? Thanks for helping me out.

Just make sure your place doesn't have a no shorts rule. We had it started when "Daisy Dukes" started coming in on the folks who changed to scrubs once they got to their area. The other twins frequently made their appearance much to the rue of those following in the hall.

I can't believe that there are people like me who actually put some consideration into how they look for classes and so forth. I go to a CC and the outfits on people at school range from sweats to pajamas most of the time. I can't believe the number of people who show up looking like they just rolled out of bed. I want to be comfortable too but if I wear something to school that I wore to bed, I'm going to bet that I'll feel like falling asleep!

My typical school dress code is either dark dressier jeans with a nice shirt, jeans and hooded sweatshirts in the winter, or one of my two work uniforms if I am going to or coming from work: scrubs or black pants and my work polo.

jeez.
