This is a huge opportunity for you. Since you haven't started orientation, you're in good shape. The PT job hasn't had to spend any money on you yet, so this is definately the best time to leave.
Since your new job is pretty far away, it's unlikely that leaving this job will have any repercussions. If you want to end on the best terms, I recommend meeting in person with the nurse manager of the PT job. Explain that you were looking forward to working with her, but due to some personal reasons, you have decided to relocate. You don't need to go into any more detail than that. Thank her for the opportunity and for her time. Bring a written letter with you as well.
Good luck in NYC!

I wouldn't say "I received a better opportunity." I would just say that I had accecpted another position but that the idea of working and [name of hospital here] is still a very exciting one and that you hope they will consider you in the future.
Yea Me and my dad just talked about it I really dont want to say that..I was going to just say something to the effect of, I thought I was going to be able to juggle 2 jobs and now I'm looking into going back to school for CRNA and I will not be able to do my job to the best of my ability by having myself stretched so thing...something to that effect...Idk what else to say really....any ideas ?...I dont wanna say anything about recieving another opportunity cuz then they will say ..Well F this kid we aint gonna hire him again...and i dont want that..i know they are not going to be thrilled but it is what it is ....

To make a long story short. I was looking for a PT job and I ended up getting one. However while I was waiting for this PT job to come thru, I decided to send off some apps to a major hospital down in NYC. And of course Murphy's law rears it's ugly head, this major hospital calls me back..Fast forward a little while and now I've accepted a job down at this hospital and NYC and I have not even started orientation at the place where I got a PT job. I need some advice on how I go about telling the people at this PT job that I can no longer accept this job due to whatever circumstances. Does anyone have any suggestions ? I have a funny feeling no matter what I say or how I say it, I will be burning a bridge, and while I hate to do it; this is an opportunity I CANNOT nor WILL NOT pass up for anything. I'll take any (good) advice at this point. Thanks in advance !
