a patient with borderline disorder attempted many suicide gestures and this time she took a lot of antidepressants. how do you handle multiple suicide gestures? do you call the doctor, take vitals, make sure the patient is okay?

What kind of unit is this? In an acute care hospital, the doctor is notified and there is a one to one watch order inititated. don't let anyone tell you that thee is no one available to do it. Trust me on this one.
in the meantime be sure to remove all objects that can be dangerous to patients.

Homework? If a patient under your care attempts to kill himself what do you think you should do.....? What would be appropriate measure to take? what would be the first imperative action when the patient is in danger? What do YOU think? I will help lead you but I won't do your homework.....assignments are made to get you using your critical thinking skills ans interventions that are imperative to not only passing NCLEX but being a sucessful, good nurse. Right? :paw:

Think about what is the most important thing in this scenario, and that will help lead you to what the correct answer is.
