There are people that talk about getting job offers before they even graduate or take the nclex. What do you have to do for this to happen? Thank you for replies.
The hospitals in my town have registered nurse applicant positions...newly graduated RNs that have yet to take NCLEX. They open the positions up about two months prior to graduation, and that's how I got my job. I will say though, that having connections helps. I know that I got my job (ER, tons of applicants), because I had a friend that was childhood friends with my hospital's VP of nursing. It also helps if you externed at the hospital, almost everyone I know that did that was offered a job on the floor that they had worked on.

Most people I know were CNAs before they graduated, so they had a job waiting for them. You could probably(at least in my area) get on a med-surg floor as a new grad.
