How do i get hired as a cna with no experience?

Published

I've applied everywhere! Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat. I look forward to hearing others suggestions. Good Luck to you!

A very good resume goes a long way. I'm a CNA with no healthcare experience, and I wrote up a nice professional looking resume outlining clinical and classroom CNA skills I had learned in school, and I was offered a job working at a hospital. So I would start off by making a good resume (check Monster.com for resume tips and helpful articles) and make sure to outline any skills you learned while working torwards your CNA.

I'm in the same boat as you folks. In my resume I listed what I did in clinicals and labs as skills I know even though I have no paid experience. There is another thread in this forum where I posted my resume if you can dig it up. Some LTC facilities and most home health agencys are willing to hire new CNA's. At least that has been my experience from phone interviews this week. I have three in person interviews next week and I'm hoping that one place will actually hire me:)

Best wishes to all of you!

My first job as a CNA was in an assisted living facility. They may be willing to hire new CNA's :) Also, home health is a good place to look to as well. I did sign up with a few agencies, but they didn't have any hours at the time :( And the pay for a new CNA was NOT good (one place offered me $9/hr , the other place $8.50/hr). Indeed.com, craigslist.com, and simplyhired.com are great places to look. Good luck !!

A really good resume! I have my old one from way back that I wrote. I can email it to you if you'd like to get an example :)

Just wanted to add I have no 'experience' and sent my resume to a dozen places. I have three interviews on Mon and Tues and a few other places emailed me to come in and fill out an application in person:) Also is it best to just take the first job I'm offered and ride it out for at least a few months or should I do a whole week of interviews and hope none of the spots fill up?

Just out of curiosity isn't starting wage for CNAs usually under $9?
