Hi Allnurses!
I have started a Home care service and health care staffing with another RN and a PT. I've done some homework with regards to marketing. Website is up and running, Brochures are being handed out. We had contacted Geriatric RNs to give out our brochures.
My question is how do you get clients!? To be specific this is in Canada Ontario. Any tips and pointers? We are still in process on getting in CCAC(government funded home care service providers). We currently have a Geriatric RN involved to give out our brochures. Handing out to clinics and pharmacies. I have had this dream for years and it has finally come to be. I understand it is an uphill battle but It is been difficult to say the least.

Hi
I was in the past considering private pay home care as a business. Here are some marketing ideas, I had came up with.
1. Go to physician offices, particularly geriatricians and spend 10-15 min talking to them about the services that you provide. Ask if they have patients who may be interested and leave flyers/brochures etc..
2. go to local hospitals in the community in which you plan to serve, speak to case managers/social workers, again present about your services, ask them if they would be willing to refer patients to your agency upon discharge, again leave flyers/brochures
3. go to senior centers or day cares, again presentations, leave marketing materials. Engage the audience ask them what type of services do they want offered that you currently don't offer
4. an ad in local paper,
5. ask local churches if you an leave flyers
6. if your local library has senior activities maybe ask them if you can present on an elder care subject i.e healthy eating, how to increase activity etc and have it put on their agenda for the seniors in the community. At the end of this elder care topic presentation you can talk about your agency and the services you will be providing, this can also be done at the senior center,
7. These will ultimately need to be repeated in other words if you establish a relationship with a social worker who refers clients to you, you may need to go pay the social worker a visit on a regular basis like monthly to touch base,
8. also your local chamber of commerce where you can meet other businesses in your area, great way to network
And your website, have a blog discussing issues that would relate to seniors. Have a facebook page or ig so members can leave comments, or reviews
Good LUCK.

Thank you!!!. Yes I have started using our facebook as an education source rather than a business one. I had made some post in our website (365Ncare.ca) although only few regarding some seniour information. I would love to add testimonials and reviews but I don't want to put fake ones out there.
Thanks for the information. How did your plan go?
It was me and two business partners and at that time, we had so many competing responsibilities going back to school, having a baby, planning a wedding. So we decided to put it on hold. Its def something I would consider again but it def requires our full attention in order to be successful.
