Congratulations....

From the first day of your last period, count back 3 months and add 7 days and that will give you an estimate of your due date..

Best wishes ! ! !

First of all congratulations! I wouldn't go by your beta since there is such a wide range of normal for each week of pregnancy. I would go by your LMP like mentioned by the above poster, or if you know when you ovulated you could use that to calculate or you might get your doc to give you an early ultrasound (before 8 weeks) to calculate your EDD! (Later ultrasounds aren't as good predictors)

How far out can ultrasounds done after 8 weeks be? My daughter's EDD was calculated by ultrasound alone (she had no idea when she had last menstruated); the ultrasound indicated an LMP of 11 weeks and 3 days earlier. The pathology values throughout her pregnancy have been consistent with the EDD indicated by the ultrasound, but I believe that these also have a fairly wide range of variation. The birth centre requires her to be 37 weeks by dates, so if the EDD calculated from the ultrasound is wrong and she is actually further pregnant than is believed (a distinct possibility), her birth choices could be affected.

:balloons: You must be ecstatic! I remember your other posts and how you've been looking forward to this day for a while now. Hope you feel better now (except for morning sickness!) Please keep us updated on how you're doing. :) We want thumbnails of your ultrasound pictures! (Just kidding!) But seriously, I hope things are going well in your life now that you have this happy news.

I am very happy for you. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and a wonderful little one! Keep us posted Momma! :) :p

Thank you all so much for your replies, your'e a wonderful group of people!!

And yes, I am very excited and scared to death at the same time, I guess that's normal?? :uhoh3: I will be sure to keep you updated, I'm hoping that I have another blood test soon, those #'s make me nervous, my dr. has ordered me progesterone vag. supp. also because I did have a miscarriage very early in a preg. about 2 years ago. I'm still in shock that I only did 2 rounds of Clomid & it worked!!!! :) The hardest part for me, & this probably sounds terrible, I quit smoking the minute I found out I was preg, the side effects from that are awful!!! I'm so irritable, severe headaches, Ohhhh, I hope this passes quick. :chuckle

Congrats on quitting smoking too! That's not an easy feat! Hang in there!

I smoked on occasion before my first son. Then, when I got pregnant, the way I knew for sure was that the smell of cigarettes made me sick as a dog....never had any other morning sickness or anything else, except for that, so it made it REALLY easy for me to quit completely.

Well, keep us posted! :balloons:

The further along in a pregnancy the less accurate an U/S is in determinating gestational age. It sounds like your daughter will have to go by her U/S dates since she didn't know her LMP or when she conceived. First pregnancies usually go overdue anyway (60-65%) so I wouldn't worry about her delivering earlier than her 37week EDD. Her EDD is probably pretty accurate--it was still her first trimester.

With my son, I had an ultrasound at 16w5d by LMP, but 16w0d by when I know I conceived. All the measurements had him had him between 16w1d and 17w1d--so only off by 8 days at the most.
