How far do you commute to work?

Wow, I got a new job...I have to drive 25 miles to the first place in the morning and then I drive 35 miles to another place at night..60 miles one way...

What is your commute like?

For 5 years now, 40 miles each way, and after a 12 hour night, it's horrible sometimes. Glad there is a rest stop along the way!

P.S. Chose this hospital over 3 others within 10 miles of home.

Well, it depended on where my first meeting of the day was. It could be as little as a mile away or up to 300 miles away, if I had to drive to Key West. I could fly but then I would have had to drive for forty five minutes, park my car, pick up my plane ticket, get on the plane, fly to Miami, get off, pick up another ticket, get on another plane, fly to Kew West, go pick up a rental car, drive to my first appointment. All of which I could have driven in five hours. Fortunately, I only had to go to Key West once every six to eight weeks.

It's 25 miles one way to the main office. From there I travel all over the city, sometimes logging as much as 120 miles in one day. Overall average is 300 miles/wk. I do community education for a home care agency.

I got you beat. I was goimg thru an old storage box a short time ago. I had my daily schedule log in it. I pulled it out and looked at the number of miles I drove a week. And this did not include out of state flights, plus driving there. I averaged 1000 to 1500 miles a week, especially in the last four years I worked. It got me wondering about how long my work days were. I averaged a twelve to fourteen hour work day, which included the driving. No wonder I made the big bucks I did.

yeah, I too chose a hospital further away, over one that is closer. I worked at a hospital for 7 years that is 15 minutes away. My new one is 35 miles, but I feel like a fresh start would be a good thing!

Takes me 3 minutes to get to work, and I still can't get there on time!! Haven't even thought to check the mileage. Biggest problem I have is that a tank of gas lasts me so long I forget to look at the gauge and end up on empty!
