One scoop of ice cream usually helps. I don't have it enough though, just once in a while. A shower always makes me feel good, relaxed and refreshed. When I was living back in Virginia Beach, I usually go to the oceanfront and watch the waves. Just walk around, the sea is very calming. If it gets late, then I just eat dinner there. Sometimes, I meet some friends there also. I just love water! :)

On those days, I get in the car, turn the music up and get lost somewhere. (In Pennsylvania that really isn't hard to do). The act of trying to find my way home helps me forget the day and I'm exhausted when I get home...so I can sleep!!!

Change out of my scrubs ASAP! Get on the laptop and see what's happening in the world. (news, weather, sports) Then it's time for the headphones and listen to some music or pickup my guitar and make my own music! :rckn:

Now that I think about it, I do have a tendency to listen to music after a shift... Though my selections range from quiet instrumental to blaring hard rock.

Man, I wish I lived close enough to the ocean to do that! I love walking on the beach as well. I suppose I could make it there, but all the "sand" beaches in Maine are two hours away.

Same here, actually. Though in Maine there are very few roads in general, so finding your way again can be all too easy. I should start looking for back roads.

There's nothing like hitting the crack pipe when you walk through the door.... no better way to unwind. :jester:

One of the beauties of allnurses is the certain degree of anonymity it provides its members. But. . .

Are you by any chance Whitney Houston??

I'm sure I'll wake up tomorrow morning and see a new thread in the forum entitled "Crack is whack." :smokin:

At least you have a hobby. :)

I guess it just depends on who you purchase it from.

From what I've heard, the dealer down the street from my facility always gives health care workers "rock"-bottom prices. :D

I think that drug-seeking behavior in the ER solves the finance problem. :)
