I am going to buy scissors this week and I found some that are prestige medical brand 7 1/2. How can I tell if they are trauma shears since they don't say on the package? I will be working in the ER so I want to make sure I buy the correct scissors the first time.

They are usually kind of angled a bit at the ends.

Thank you. From all of your descriptions, I believe these are trauma shears. Thanks again.

Mine also have serrated blades. They cut through blue jeans. They also cut through brand new Blackberry car chargers when you use them to open the clamshell packaging. Oops.

Make sure they feel sturdy, I've had shears that looked like a duck, but felt like I could bend them.
Thanks Dinah77, just don't expect it every time. I can't account for future hurried posts

If you loan them out and they don't get returned, chances are they WERE trauma shears!!
