How can I finalize my NSW registration???

The assessment letter I got from NSW nursing board says that registration will be granted when I attend the Board's office with identity documents. But the employer in NSW I contacted said that I have to finalize my registration first before they would consider my application. I assume there's no other way than spending another trip to Sydney simply to show my passport to someone, that sounds a little bit ridiculous.... I was hoping that I could get a job offer before I physically go there to finalize the registration. Anybody has any idea what I should do at this point???

Thanks!!!

well, you can't work without registration, so getting that finalised is your priority.

Are you in Australia or not?

Do you need to present original copies or will certified copies be ok?

I suggest you contact the board and find out exactly what to do to finalise your registration.

If they say they want you to present at the office with original documents, then that's what they mean.

Thanks for your reply Joan.

I'm not in Australia. And the Board doesn't accept mailed documents. I guess spending another trip is the only option for me?

Unfortunately, I think it will require you to make a trip to Sydney to finalise your registration.

However, the board will probably close down over the december/january period, so make sure you check with them when they are open so you don't come over when they are shut.

Thanks so much Joan. Will surely check before i make a trip.

What country are you in zakuro?

It seems odd that the NSW registration board would expect you to come to Australia from another country in order to sight your papers. Afterall, people from several overseas countries process their applications, registrations etc via mail frequently.

I'd be interested to know if indeed they mean for you to present personally.
