Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2025

Published

Hiiiii everyone! I know this is a little early but I am graduating this December and will be applying to houston nurse residencies and didn't see a forum for this 🙂 since applications start in a few months, just wanted to make this for more info! Does anyone know all the application opening dates for TCH, MH, Methodist, etc...?

Has anyone heard from Harris Health? They are my top pick and I wanted to wait to see if they reached out before making any decisions, but I haven't heard anything from them.

Did you get an interview?

I did and got an offer for an RN I position (it is not a residency program though) in Houston and was also invited back to rejoin my previous residency that I was a part of for 6 month before having to leave for maternity! But I really wanted to finish a residency because I found it super helpful and informative and I would have to move back to NC to rejoin my previous residency

Nice where is the rn1 position at!

I believe Harris Health is going to take a while before they do interviews. I think they mentioned something like mid to late October for the interviews.

Has anyone heard from Methodist?

It's with Texas Oncology at their Woodlands Infusion Center! But I was kind of hoping to try something new out (specifically OR) before going back into Oncology which is what my first residency was in

OMG that's what I would wanna learn infusion! Do they take new grads?

I think they are open to it! The job postings don't say you need any experience, and it did say that they are willing to train on how to do infusion if you've never had experience. But they did specify in the interview that they liked that I already had infusion experience and wouldn't need to be trained on it too much.

From what I can tell, they are very short staffed so I would definitely give it a go if they post another position if I were you! Especially if you express having a genuine interest in that speciality.

Has anybody recieved a second interview with any HM location and if so anybody know what to expect?

Yes but I have no clue what to expect. They said it was a follow up interview where id get to tour the unit and what not.
