Houston Nurse Residency Fall 2024

Hi! I'm graduating this August and plan on applying to positions in Houston in women's health and pediatrics. I wanted to create a thread so everyone can stay up to date on applications/interviews for the October 2024 Cohorts. Good luck!

From what I was told, you can only interview with two units for the TMC location. The event is still being held tomorrow and there is only one location which was sent in the email with the specialties being offered. I feel that it could have been more structured as in the sense of it not having interview slots on a first come first serve basis because if you didn't see the email until hours late (like me), you miss out on signing up for your top two selections and are left with the units noone wants to work on.

What unit did you apply for? I heard back last Wednesday, all of Houston Methodist interviews are tomorrow

I applied to ICU, Med surg, and Emergency Room

Does anyone know if St. Luke's is doing the same thing as Harris Health? Like putting preference on Internal, then nursing students, then maybe external if there is spots open?

 

Has anyone been selected for St. Luke's in the past?

I don't think so because I got the next step survey from St. Luke and I live out of state, but who knows. I don't think has heard back yet.

I chose ICU as my first choice then emergency, Med Surg. It's OK I just have to cope for a little

I got an email yesterday at 4pm, but there was literally only one specialty left (SNF) and limited time slots. I did not get my 2 choices. I'm going to see if I can interview with others tomorrow
